Laser Skin Resurfacing

There are many factors that can cause your skin to look dull and lifeless. Aging can cause fine lines and wrinkles to appear.  Acne can leave noticeable scarring. All these issues and more can be treated effectively with laser resurfacing.

How Laser Skin Resurfacing Works

Lasers use light to penetrate the deeper layers of your skin, promoting collagen production. The laser also resurfaces the upper layer of your skin, removing dead skin cells and rejuvenating your skin. Your body’s natural healing processes are stimulated to create new, vital, more youthful skin.

The Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing

After a laser resurfacing treatment, you will notice:

  • Your skin looks younger and more vibrant
  • Your skin appears smoother
  • You have a more even skin tone
  • Fine lines and wrinkles are diminished
  • Acne scarring is faded and less noticeable
  • The appearance of sun damage is diminished

Conditions Laser Skin Resurfacing Can Treat

Laser resurfacing can help with:

  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Early signs of aging
  • Sun damage and age spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Actinic Keratosis
  • Skin abnormalities

What You Need To Know About Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is typically performed with either a pulsed-dye laser or intense pulsed light or IPL therapy. Both of these methods require minimal to no recovery time and have a low risk of side effects.

Each laser resurfacing treatment takes between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the area treated. For best results, 1 to 5 treatments are recommended. Effects of laser skin resurfacing are cumulative, so you will see improved results with more treatments and over time.

What To Do After Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

Remember to protect your skin by using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and a moisturizer daily. Wear a hat and sunglasses for protection too.
